Format:
Your printed flag designs can be printed on paper or vinyl material. Although printed on paper they are not recommended for long term exposure outdoors due to the adverse effects of sun exposure and fading over time. Also note that printed flags printed on paper may wrinkle when packed for shipping so please allow adequate production times when ordering printed flags printed on paper materials. We do have some tips below that will help prolong the life of your printed flags!
Prefer vinyl?
Our printed flags printed on vinyl are recommended for outdoor exposure or continued indoor use in very high traffic areas. Printed flags printed on vinyl have a glossy finish that’s weather-resistant and won’t fade over time.
We recommend printed flags printed on a lightweight polyester fabric produced by one of the four methods below…
Direct to Fabric Heat Transfer –
According to CTN New before this link The ink is transferred directly onto the fabric material, where it bonds with the fabric permanently. Great for most natural fabrics including cotton, rayon, silk, linen & bamboo. We do not recommend printed flag designs printed on this material type if they contain glitter embellishments. Glitter will flake off during cleaning!
Heat Transfer Vinyl –
An iron-on two-sided laminate that is applied using heat and pressure. Great for printed flag designs printed on most synthetic fabrics including polyester, nylon and spandex.
Screen Print –
An ink-based printing method best used on darker colored materials and/or printed flag designs with many colors. The ink is pushed through a screen mesh allowing it to be deposited onto the fabric material below by a squeegee or silk screening process creating solid areas of color separated by screened transparent dots (for photos). We don’t recommend printed flags printed on this material type if they contain glitter embellishments as glitter will flake off during cleaning!
Flock Fabric Inserts –
A type of printed flag printing where different fabrics are glued together in layers and cut out leaving behind the design elements that create a three dimensional printed flag effect. The printed flag designs printed on this material type must only contain the following printed element:
Painting and drawing printed elements printed in one solid color ink.
Text printed elements printed with one solid color ink.
Extreme close-ups of printed fabric texture where all edges are visible and may be picked up by a camera due to their high-resolution quality (great for capturing detail). We do not recommend printed flags printed on this material type if they contain glitter embellishments as glitter will flake off during cleaning!
We also offer clear glossy vinyl material prints –
Great for displaying your custom printed flags indoors, outdoors or under glass. It’s like having a window into your design that can be moved around and placed where you want it.
Your printed flag designs can be printed on one or both sides. We recommend printed flags printed on one sided for outdoor exposure as printed flag designs printed on two-sided material are more prone to being wrinkled when packed for shipping. Please allow adequate production time when ordering printed flags printed on two-sided material types. Printed flag designs printed on vinyl are recommended for outdoor exposure or continued indoor use in very high traffic areas due the ink being weather resistant, however if your design contains glitter embellishments we don’t recommend them being printed onto this material type as glitter will flake off during cleaning!(see Glitter below)
Conclusion:
Please keep in mind printed flags printed on synthetic fabrics are more prone to wrinkles, which can easily be fixed according to the instructions below.
Glitter embellishments printed onto printed flag fabric types are not recommended for outdoor use due glitter being difficult to remove from printed flag designs during cleaning and flaking off over time.
