How to keep your house well clean and very organized

If you’re reading this, you love your home to be clean and organized. As someone who likes to organize things, I know that the best way to feel motivated to organize your own space is a bit of inspiration. While you can decorate the outside with walled gardens and fancy gates, you should also focus on good house interior.
Another reason to keep your home clean and organized is that it makes your home safe and accident-free. These tips for cleaning your house will have your place looking very tidy all week.

Initiate a wash cycle when you return home

If you have laundry that needs to be washed, initiate one first thing in when you get home, so you have time to dry, iron, fold or hang your clothes. Make space for a folding area close to your washing machine. Always fold and iron as soon as the machine finishes washing and drying the clothes. As you take the finished clothes to your room, iron, fold or hang them in the wardrobe immediately.

Taking care of the kitchen

Unwash dishes tend to be the leading cause of a messy kitchen. Every time you and your family or loved ones finish eating, ensure you take all the dishes directly into the dishwasher if you use one. If you don’t use a dishwasher, wash them immediately after eating.

If there is no time to take care of the dishes after eating, prepare one side of your sink with water and detergent for washing. Put the dishes inside of it before you leave for work. This will help remove grease from the dishes, and they will not be hard to sponge off later when you’re back.

The kitchen is a great place to apply a rule you have to follow regularly. It’s worth it. A clean kitchen help ensure your family’s health and well-being.

Sort the Mail

Mail can take over your home faster than you think if you do nothing about them. It is essential to go through everyday mail and shred the unimportant ones into trash or recycling bins. Read the important ones and act on them. The ones you need at a later date or the important ones you have to keep for reminders or for reference purposes, make a drawer for them. Arrange them very well and keep them inside.

Add the ones you don’t need anymore to the discarded ones. That way, you will be able to make your home free of papers and envelopes lying everywhere around.

Organize shoes properly

Shoes need to be well organized, so they don’t litter around properly. Shoe collections can quickly get out of hand, especially if you’re the type that likes to acquire a lot of shoes. This makes them very harder to arrange and store properly.

Gather all your loose shoes and leave the pair that everyone likes to wear often by the front door. Then take the rest and put them inside a closet or somewhere you have arranged for them to be kept.

Many professional organizers say the top shelf of the closet is one of the best places to store shoes. Lowenheim in Goodbye Clutter recommends keeping shoes on the top shelf in shoeboxes with related pictures attached to the front.

Bottom Line

Try as much as possible to do your cleaning before the end of the day. Don’t carry over extra work to do the next day. After an evening of watching movies and eating, ensure you straighten everything in the living room space and dining. Take the empties to the dishwasher. Wash them immediately.

Remind others to do the same until everyone gets used to the routine. The next day, you would be glad you did.
